Baron Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning's original owner began the business in 1970. He named the company Baron as he claimed he was a French Baron. After three months he sold Baron's to Ellis Langen who retained the business for 27 years. When Ellis started out he arrived in a purple Volkswagen vanwith his portable steam-cleaning machine (hot water extraction system), which was the big thing in those days. Paul started working with Ellis as the water boy and gopher after Ellis had cleaned his mother's carpet. During the three years Paul worked at Baron, he learnt the in's and out's of the business. Ellis purchased one of the first truck mounted steam cleaning machines in Victoria. In 1998, Paul purchased the company from Ellis and has been going strong ever since.
